china is predicted to become the world’s leading commercial entity in the future, and this prognosis is fuelling great interest on the part of businesses throughout the world. Keen to be part of the phenomenal growth, opportunities to initiate business relations with key companies in the country mean that events like Cosmoprof Shanghai are growing fast.

????????? The leading beauty event in China presented its second edition earlier this year, showcasing brands from all over the world and updating locals and visitors on the industry’s latest trends. At the same time, supported by the Trade Association, China’s top-tier and second-tier cities were well represented. Over 120 buyers and distributors from Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai as well cities such as Changchun, Chengdu, Chongqing, Dalian, Hangzhou, Harbin, Nanjing, Qingdao, Shenyang, Tian-jin and Wuhan enthusiastically explored the expo, finding out about the world’s products and spas, and at the same time spreading the news of China’s fast-growing industry. Delegates reported being delighted to find brands never before seen in China, which will help meet the huge demand of Chinese consumers for wellness and spa products.
?????????? This exclusive trade environment attracted high profile visitors from the rest of the world, with impressive national pavilions from Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Israel, Italy, Korea, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan and the US. In total a record number of 343 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions took up 26,000sqm of exhibition space.
????????? The Red Carpet Hair & Beauty Event was one of the expo’s crowd-pullers, an exciting cutting-edge hair show featuring top international artists over two days of live demonstrations. Big names label.m and TONI&GUY entertained audiences of over 400 with hair cutting demonstrations followed by a catwalk ofTONI&GUY’s latest creations on day one, followed by the Model & Stylist Contest and Hair Styling Show by Revlon Spa and Haircare Appliances and The Surrealist Hair Styling Show by Japanese
hairdressers on day two.
With doing business within China still a mystery to many, the conferences and seminars proved popular, especially The Golden Key to Enter China Cosmetics Market, which unravelled the rules of retail distribution. Additionally Importing Cosmetics Products in China for those new to the China market explained the application procedures, rules and regulations required to import cosmetics products. A useful free advisory service was also given to exhibitors.
????????? Information was returned at the focus seminars, with Pevonia talking delegates through deluxe spa services, product sales, club management and industry education in their SPA & Hospitality Professional seminar, while the New Business Opportunity of European Nail, Hand & Foot Care talk featured LCN’s secrets of grasping emerging business opportunities in China by adopting European hand and foot care concepts.
All in all, with over 10,000 visitors flocking to the expo, the event was deemed a great success and looks set to capitalise on this for next year’s edition. www.cosmoprofshanghai.com
